Eligibility

Membership Criteria

Public school districts in any Northeast Ohio county are eligible to join the SMART Consortium.  Membership requires a school board resolution authorizing the district’s membership, a letter of commitment from the district’s superintendent, and payment of an annual stipend (based upon the district’s student enrollment) to support the operation of the consortium.

District superintendents serve as voting members of the SMART Management Council and are actively engaged in charting the direction of the consortium.   In addition, SMART member school districts receive discounted registration fees for SMART-sponsored  workshops and events.
